Safe and efficient authentication

Read on to learn more about eIDs and how they can help your business.

Knowledge

eID = electronic identification

Most of you reading this will be familiar with at least one form of electronic identification. This may be a national eID like BankID in Sweden and Norway or an independent one like Onfido or Swisscom. Depending on how familiar you are with them, you may not realise how many use cases there are out there for the various eIDs.

When to use eIDs?

When should you use eIDs? For example:

  • When identifying a signing party
  • Offering a secure onboarding experience
  • Logging in with existing credentials
  • Remaining compliant with regulations (e.g. KYC, GDPR)

Depending on where you’re based, the requirements for different types of authentication, identification and signature will vary. If you’re unsure of where you need eIDs or what level of e-signature is right, feel free to read up on the different levels of e-signatures or reach out directly to us.

Display your name proudly

With Swedish BankID, you have the option of showing a “Display Name” during the authentication process, which ensures continuity, clarity and branding throughout the process but also maintains trust with your customers or signing parties.

BankID officially recommends that each organisation should have their own display name visible during the process for these reasons. Already using Swedish BankID but want to add “Display Name” to your service? Contact us here.
