Extra security with BankID Extra Control

Scrive and BankID

Add another layer of trust to your most sensitive cases

Some transactions and interactions carry more risk, whether it’s sensitive data being shared or high-value transactions being authorized. That’s where BankID Extra Control steps in.

With an additional identity verification step, you can ensure that the person on the other end is exactly who they say they are.

Protect your customers and your business

BankID Extra Control helps reduce the risk of fraud in critical situations by verifying the user’s identity using a physical ID document issued by the Swedish police.

This extra control is ideal when:

  • Sensitive personal or financial data is exchanged
  • Large payments are being approved
  • There’s a need for higher trust in a digital process

How it works

When Extra Control is triggered, the customer is asked to:

  1. Take a photo of their Swedish passport or national ID card
  2. Tap the ID document with their phone using the built-in NFC reader

The phone’s camera and NFC chip work together to verify that the document is authentic and valid, by reading both the visual data and the secure chip inside the document.

Both document types are issued in controlled environments, ensuring the highest levels of trust.

Benefits at a glance
