DigitalK2 makes annual reporting fully digital with Scrive

DigitalK2 has made the entire annual-report process digital from start to finish, adding Scrive for smooth electronic signing with BankID.

“If we wouldn't use Scrive, we would need to have some manual steps of the user having to download the annual report, sign it, send it to all the people that should sign it. So we reduce that manual step for the user, which saves a lot of headache and time.”

Jakob Rylander, Co-Founder of DigitalK2

For small limited companies, preparing and submitting an annual report should not have to involve unnecessary paperwork. DigitalK2 is built around that idea, offering a simple, affordable way for small Swedish companies to prepare and submit their annual reports and income tax returns (INK2) digitally.

But even in an otherwise digital process, one manual step remained: signing the annual report itself.

With Scrive, DigitalK2 has added smooth electronic signing with BankID, helping make the entire annual-report process digital from start to finish.

Making annual reporting simpler for small companies

DigitalK2 was founded by Jakob Rylander and his business partner, who have a background in accounting for small companies. Through their work, they saw an opportunity to make annual reporting easier for businesses that were not being well served by existing solutions. “We realised that there wasn’t really a simple, smart and affordable way to do this for small companies in the way that we wanted it to be,” says Jakob Rylander.

DigitalK2 focuses specifically on small Swedish limited companies, including holding companies and dormant companies. Customers can upload an accounting file from their accounting platform or enter their information manually, review and revise the results, and produce an annual report that meets the requirements of the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket).

The service is designed around three priorities: simplicity, security and affordability.

“We’re not really going after the larger companies. We care about the smaller ones. We want to make it as easy and as convenient for them as possible.”

Closing the final gap in a digital process

DigitalK2 already had a digital process for submitting annual reports. Customers could use BankID to complete the required verification step but the annual report itself still needed to be signed separately.

Without a digital signing solution, that meant introducing manual steps into an otherwise digital workflow. Customers would have to download the annual report, sign it, and send it to the other people who needed to sign it.

For DigitalK2, this was exactly the kind of friction the service was designed to remove.

“With this, the user experience can be fully digital,” says Jakob. “If we wouldn’t use Scrive, we would need to have some manual steps of the user having to download the annual report, sign it, send it to all the people that should sign it. So we reduce that manual step for the user, which saves a lot of headache and time.”

DigitalK2 chose Scrive to provide the electronic signing step, with BankID as a key requirement. The integration also allows DigitalK2 to keep the signing process within its own customer journey, rather than requiring users to move between different services.

The result is a single, straightforward flow from preparing the annual report through to signing and submitting it.

“We realised that there wasn't really a simple, smart and affordable way to do this for small companies in the way that we wanted it to be,”

A smoother experience for customers

DigitalK2 launched its service in June 2026, ahead of the main annual-report season in Sweden. More than 500 customers used the service during June and July, giving the company an early opportunity to see how the new digital signing process performed in practice.

While it is still too early to put a precise figure on time saved, Jakob says the company has already seen signs of a smoother customer experience.

“We can see already that it’s a smoother process, partially because we get way fewer questions,” he says. “Before, there were more questions like: ‘How do we sign this? Should I download a document? How should I send this to the other board members?’ The process is more straightforward now, where everything is just one flow.”

For Jakob, the value of Scrive is not simply the addition of electronic signatures, but how naturally the signing step fits into the wider DigitalK2 experience.

“Scrive is part of that whole process in an incredibly smooth way.”

Supporting a fully digital future for small companies

DigitalK2 sees electronic signing as an important part of making annual reporting genuinely digital rather than simply replacing some paper-based steps.

For smaller companies in particular, removing unnecessary administration can make a meaningful difference. DigitalK2’s focus is therefore firmly on making annual reporting simple and convenient for the businesses that need it.

Adding Scrive’s electronic signing capabilities means that customers no longer need to break out of that digital workflow at the final signing stage.

For DigitalK2, that makes the product more complete while reinforcing its position as a service designed specifically around the needs of small Swedish companies.

As the service matures and more customers use it through future annual-report seasons, DigitalK2 will also be able to measure the longer-term impact of the fully digital workflow.

For now, the goal is straightforward:

“We want to make annual reports as easy and as convenient as possible for our customers.”
